I worked at County of San Bernardino

Pros

The people who work in the county are nice and patient. The working hours is stable. At the end of the internship, I learned a lot about how government accounting operates.

Cons

The work was not challenging and sometimes could be boring. But it depends which department you work with. As an intern, I worked a lot with documents.

    Cons

    Once corrupt always corrupt mentality
public perception that we have too many benefits
union dues, union does nothing except to imply they are working for us when they have already sold us down the river (even if this is a recession - make cuts fair at all levels)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

need to have more interaction with "front line"

I have been working at County of San Bernardino

    Pros

9/80 schedule is the greatest benefit.

    Cons

Cronyism at its best. Its not what you know, but who you know that matters. Ineptitude is rewarded at every turn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the game playing. Be honest and direct. Take action when someone can't or won't do their job instead of sympathizing because they have a family. Treateveryone the same and use tyhe same measurement tool for everyone.
