Don't work as a Kelly Service Contractor for Covidien in Boulder, CO

Engineer (Former Employee) Boulder, CO

ProsFlex time, work at home, good employee work group, free coffee

ConsBoulder is made up of mostly interns, new college grads, many temp contractors and some regular employees. The people who work there are nice. There is a very high turn around and empty desks since there are many temp employees, new grads, and interns. People are often ask who was laid off or who found a new job? There has been many new changes with new VIP management and even the full time reg employees are not safe for employment. I would not recommend working as a contractor unless you are in between job searches. They don't hire someone from a contractor to a direct hire often and there is no promise that your contract will be as long as promised. There is also the new hire contractor game of trying to make yourself look better then the other because you MIGHT be hired on. You will be able to go to a few company functions but not many. The company picnic you will not be allow to go too or holiday party. I also think it is unfair not to be recoginised when a project is completed besides your contract is not being renewed.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't lay off people just to show stock holders a profit. If you hire temps to hire, don't leave them hanging on to a job 2-3 years to never be hired on. You should also have a clear direction of where you are going. Too bad the people who know your products are leaving your company and not coming back. Don't serve cake before laying off people just to sweeting them up.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
