Pros

Free Services
Promotional Swag
A lot of Free Food
Camaraderie and sense of being in trenches with co workers
Good, transferable experience

Cons

Way too much emphasis on bottom line, not enough on serving the customer
Lack of support for the Front Line
Too scripted, impersonal

Advice to ManagementAdvice

...would be pointless

    I worked at Cox Communications full-time

    Pros

    Good company to work for. Good corporate culture, but it is changing. Overall, Cox is good to its employees. Generous Holiday & PTO. Offers professional development training. Compensation was good, but recent annual increases were minimal (~3%).

    Cons

    The pay-TV industry has transitioned from a growth industry to a mature industry where competitors are competing for share. Cox went through a realignment in 2011 and 2012 to be more competitive. These changes, the realignment process, and struggles to stem net subscriber losses has damaged employee morale and the corporate culture.

    I have been working at Cox Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Pension, 6% 401k match, bonus, great health insurance, outstanding vacation time, great facilities, and diversity of employees, technology, and opportunity to grow.

    Cons

    Declining culture, decreasing budgets, and efficiency driving better employees to other companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Spend more time hiring qualified employees, so your good employees don't have to make up the difference.
