Cons

Non-sales positions have little opportunities for advancement.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to the employees on the analyst level. Do not assume they will learn everything you know without having formal training. Don't keep secrets to devalue the support staff.

    Pros

It's a job on your resume. You meet some cool people along the way. You can score free tickets to events.

    Cons

Instead of a real bonus, you'll get a book about the company founder -that was published by Cox. And free ham! Real classy.

People who kiss the management's behinds endlessly, but have no management skills whatsoever, will slack off and still get promoted. While people that are more deserving are stifled in hourly jobs with no respect.

Morale is low, because management doesn't promote the people that deserve it and doesn't fire the slackers that they love... no matter how much work they create for everyone else. Raises are stuck at a paltry 2%... and good luck getting salaried jobs. So you only are motivated to work hard enough to not get fired, while looking for external career opportunities.

You can work your tail off -and your boss still will deny you the promotion/raise they dangled in front of you, while also working politically to keep you from transferring to a better job in another division. Because they know things will go to pot when you leave -but they're still unwilling to pay you what you're worth to make you happy.

Management is rife with men that make sexist comments about female staff. So unless you're part of the "boys club" -just know that they're making misogynistic comments about you behind your back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop shooting yourself in the foot by not promoting the people that actually work hard for you and care about details/quality. Promote people that are actually respected by their peers -not your buddies that suck up to you, but are totally incompetent. It makes everyone else realize they're going to get the shaft too.

Morale is LOW. You can't keep treating your support staff like garbage and expect to get efficiency or quality out of them. Give people the raises/promotions they earned. Don't not pay bonuses and then give some tacky gift instead (very Christmas Vacation Jelly of the Month Club). And when employees do something to save the company money, REWARD THEM! Treat every one your employees like gold, and I promise, it will improve work ethic.

    Pros

Free coffee and that's about it.

    Cons

Upper management would rather step on those employees that work so hard to build their product than make sure work environment is not hostile. The upper mgt and their hipster minions are cliquish and in charge, and fail to realize their immature and unprofessional manner is affecting the productivity of those working around them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reprimand your employees that are harassing to others. No amount of promised money/bonuses can compensate for an unsafe work place.
