I worked at Cracker Barrel full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Nice environment. Good Benefits considering it's a restaurant job. I paid $11 a week for health insurance. If that's not a steal I don't know what is.

Cons

The uniform is a little outdated. I feel like jeans and a brown t-shirt would feel more country than black pants and a long sleeve button up.

    Current Employee - Back-Up Cook
    Current Employee - Back-Up Cook

I have been working at Cracker Barrel full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly working environment, other employees are very nice.

    Cons

Employees sometimes have trouble communicating while in the kitchen. As a back-up cook you have a lot to do the way it is and recently cracker barrel has selected back-up cooks to take on some of the duties of prep cooks which is going to make it more difficult to get every thing done. I don't find this to be fair. Back-up cooks usually don't get breaks because of the amount of things they have to do. You would be lucky to get a break as a back-up cook!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think upper management should ease up a little bit on back-up cooks. They have enough to do the way it is with the regular menu and promos, I don't think it's fair to be giving them the duties of prep cooks!!
