    Pros

    Working with people on the salesfloor to help them with a furniture purchase.
    Creating new ways to display furniture and accessories.

    Cons

    The long hours on your feet.
    The low hourly pay rate.
    Poor comunnication between upper management and the sales staff.

    I have been working at Crate and Barrel

    Pros

    - Great products
    - I genuinely like my co-workers.
    - I like what the CB2 brand is "supposed" to be about.

    Cons

    - The management is absolutely ridiculous.
    - Management overlooks achievements and exaggerates mistakes.
    - Management will always side with the customer and not the employee.
    - Extreme micro-management.
    - Promotion is not based on merit, but on favoritism.
    - Shady pay.
    - Pointless and laughable 13 cent raises.
    - Very high expectations for very little pay.
    - Waste of money on marketing schemes, instead of funneling back into stores to benefit employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Have confidence in your employees. They are here to help you succeed.
    - Listen to your employees' concerns.
    - Support your employees; understand that there are difficult customers.
    - Acknowledge your employees' successes and pardon petty faults.
    - Stop being cliquey! Don't play the favoritism game and promote people who have experience and seniority.
    - End the false promises.
    - Stop wasting money on marketing schemes that do not work because they are detrimental for sales.
