I have been working at Crawford & Company full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Liberal work from home policy.

Cons

The CIO gives quarterly "status of the company meetings." As usual he would say that his employees are the most valuable asset. A week later he overseas outsourced the entire IT Infrastructure group of 108 techs. Don't believe a thing he says.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a CIO who has integrity, knows what they are doing and is only looking out for himself.

    Pros

    Good, enjoyable, challenging work. Decent opportunity to build skills and advance (but company wants it all done on my own time, while they're expecting us to work 60+ hours per week).

    Cons

    Very high (unrealistic) expectations - working hours; no real appreciation or understanding of what it takes out in the field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop talking about how important employees are - and act like it. Fix the HQ staff - the work is done in the field, not in HQ. They are support. They should support.
