Great people to work with, a great team environment, good pay, good benefits, very flat level organization, minimal micromanagement, overall great company

Cons

There is not very much room for advancement within the company, the divisions are very small and opportunities to advance are limited.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote based on performance and make positions for people that do well in the company and that you want to stay with Cree.

    Free gym, casual dress code, decent salary, benefits

    Cons

    If you're an exempt employee (me), expect to work long hours >45hr/week. When I worked there, I found it very difficult to strike a healthy balance between life and work. I left that job because of the managements unrealistic working hours.

    Make an effort to improve employee retention rates.

    Very exciting technology in a fast growing markets with many interesting end applications to service.

    Cons

    Generally lower base pay then industry counter-parts, which is no longer off-set by pay in stock options.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Even in the current economic climate offering competitive compensation is the best way to retain talent. Look at ways to offer higher pay that is more directly linked to individual performance, not just company wide targets.
