I have been working at Crocs

Pros

Flexibility on working hours, minimal supervision on staff, free staff shoe entitlment every quarter, 50% discount given for shoe purchases.

Cons

Higher management focused too much on the macro management side, thus neglected the voices and feedback of the lower level staff.
Too anxious in implementing new systems when the existing ones are having too much of unresolved issues.
Feedback of middle and lower management/staff are gathered but higher management insisted on rolling out the new systems. Thus, created a lot of resentment in staff executing daily work.

Little pay rise each year, and forced to go for retail work due to stores having manpower problems. Office staffs are busy with daily coordination yet still have to compromise time for this event.

Bosses often give unclear instructions and when asked, they turned the words around, different from what they have instructed previously.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some time to go through the feedbacks of the staff as they are the ones who know the bottlenecks of the processes. Only then the company can move forward.

    Pros

    good at giving time off and decent benefits. The pay is good for the industry and it is a relatively young company with a lot of potential for growth

    Cons

    Stressful environment with a lack of process. The company is making efforts to improve this but it is slow going.

    Pros

    - Flexible schedule, freedom to make your own schedule as long as you adhered to hours.
    - No micromanagement
    - Varied responsibilities
    - 50% Discount
    - Ability to travel between stores & states possible
    - Bonus program was outstanding

    Cons

    - Corporate was slow to respond to stock requests
    - Archaic payroll verification on store end
    - District & Regional managers spread too thin (5+ states for DM, only 2 RMs for US & Canada)
    - No more special events
    - Too much focus on retail partners, not on corporate assets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Crocs unfortunately suffered it's massive stock drop soon after I started. They clung to their old CEO for too long, and were slow to adapt to a growing business. Popular styles and colors were always unavailable to be shipped, yet the other retail stores (Dicks Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, Carson's, etc.) always had them.

    Corporate needs to focus on growing their locations. Forget kiosks in the mall, get actual stores. There are enough open retail stores in malls now with business folding to make each one a mini-outlet store.

    Give your corporate branded stores priority with product. Customers shopped us first, and it wasn't good business to have to turn them away. Also, go back to hosting special events. Sponsor AVP again, partner with NASCAR and PGA. Those were massive money makers for you. $150k in three days, and you still found a way to screw it up.
