Former Employee - Banquet Captain in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
Former Employee - Banquet Captain in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook

I worked at Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Not one I can think of for the foreign banquet workers

Cons

Very undisciplined and uneducated coordinators at the banquet division. Treated foreign workers pretty much like animals.

Advice to Management

Well I don't think they need my advice. They earn tens of thousands of ringgit, they could use their brains to make things better or use their salaries to buy advice. PRUDES!

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can choose which shift you want to do. You may choose when to start your shift (early start - longer shift; later start - shorter shift). If you get the right customers, the tips you receive may be quite substantial.

    Cons

The shifts usually run in unsociable hours. As a casual worker, you rarely get rewarded for your affords (apart from tips that is). No sick leave - if you're ill, you don't get paid. Many functions are understaffed.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more staff.
