Pros

I was already familiar with the work being done when I was hired on.

Cons

No training for a new manager on company specifics. When the contract I was on was terminated 2 years early the company did not have positions available for myself and several other qualified individuals to move to because other managers did not want to put in the time to train us up on new jobs.

Advice to Management

Develop a training package for new managers. Work harder to hire and promote from within.

Other Employee Reviews for Cubic

  1. Cubic is an unusual company and has good opportunities for some, though relationships with top managers are important.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Cubic has operations all over the world, so there may be interesting opportunities in other countries. HQ is in San Diego, and visits to HQ are strongly encouraged.

    Cons

It is a very political environment, and long-term employess who have strong relationships (personal relationships) with top execs tend to fare better.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to do more than talk about transforming the way the compny does business. The compny's well-earned reputatiuon won't change unless the company itself changes.

  2. No minorities in upper management, poor leadership.

    Pros

The good thing about working for Cubic is that although the pay is lower than average you will be able to sustain a living, while you wait for the axe to fall.

    Cons

Upper management is very protective of themselves. Little or no regard for fairness in hiring or promoting minorities. Majority work in Facilities.

    Advice to Management

Cubic is an international company and deals with industries in many third world countries. They have one Hispanic in sent to world New Zealand.
