I have been working at Cummins

Pros

Cummins is america's greatest manufacturer of diesel engines. It has significant and profitable growth opportunities ahead and will be a great place to work.

Cons

Six-sigma is forced upon employees in cases where it is not the best way to solve a problem. Also locations are a bit at odd places.

available to move jobs easily, many opportunities to advance
flexible work hours as long as you can complete your work
    diverse, respectable employees

    Cons

not much passion for product, lacking some structure in the internship program, needs some people with a more team focus mindset

Intellectually not stimulating, mundane work that a non engineer could perform.

    I worked at Cummins

    Pros

    1. Lots of free time at hand since job is 8-to-5
    2. Nice people as it is in the midwest.

    Cons

    1. You will be stuck in this industry with no great learning and exit options.
    2. The pay is too low compared to the other companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to differentiate between the best employees and the average joes. The hiring process is too haphazard with lots of people hired during boom and similarly lots fired during bust without considerable planning.
