I worked at Cummins full-time for more than a year

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, plenty of community involvement projects that you could volunteer in. This is a good company to start off your career.

Cons

Poor work life balance, unstellar employee retention rate and frequent shifts within the company led to interference with job tasks.

Cummins performance is purely linked to how Truck OEM's do. One year if they do well, Cummins will do well. If markets are down, they will not be afraid to lay off.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train employees better and make it a more friendlier place for international employees, especially in achieving work-life balance.

I have been working at Cummins full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Can't see any pros in catering to special interest for political expedience

    Cons

Executives playing a game of political correctness catering to a fringe minority. A majority of employees feel insulted by the company's social position which they have enveloped in the term "diversity". The diverse global employee base does not agree with internal GLBT programs which goes against the grain of the majority beliefs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Having moral character is not discriminatory.

I worked at Cummins full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Salary
    Vacations & Holidays
    Insurance
    Career Opportunties
    Community Involvement opportunties

    Cons

Expect to self train for your position. Difficult to find individuals to support your development. Opportunites for career advancements not based on skill or abilitiy, you need a guardian in your corner. Out-dated computer systems. Very cyclical environment...knee jerk reaction to ecomonic conditions - hires a 1000 employess in first 6 months of the year then turns around and randomly fires that many by the end of the year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in new technology - computer & software systems. Seek better alternatives to your staffing requirements, less hiring and firing...need more coaching and development for current employees
