    I worked at Cummins Rocky Mountain full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Ummmmm........decent pay and benefits. Good group of technicians.

    Cons

    Job safety analysis process is ridiculous. Management has a "customer is always right attitude " so you better hope you weren't the last one to touch that truck. Service supervisor is not knowledgeable of cummins engines (Henderson, CO) They hire to many technicians so there is never enough work to go around. Computers are always broken so for 12 techs only 1 or 2 computers work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Back up your employees. Stop hiring people just to lay them off. Don't just hear your employees ideas, listen to them and use them. Hire supervisors that are subject matter experts. Get computers for all your techs so they don't have to wait on one while on a job.

    Pros

    Growing industry, great group of employees that are dedicated, hard working, skilled and knowledgeable about the product, that are beginning to defect to other businesses.

    Cons

    Many - aggressive management, more aggressive executives, seems filled with masters degree which makes it hard to break into the upper echelon. Motivation is not present but an overwhelming culture of fear is. Question any decision from above you and you are executed with promptness. VP of OPs is punitive, aggressive and convinced that his way is the only way. Suggestions from employees on the firing line are cast aside. Respect isn't present. Management consists of 'yes men' that act as a tunnel for executives to implement what they want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The growth of CRM is a reflection of market conditions and not executive decisions. Listen to your employees, they are the ones that have to deal with the ideas you implement and continually slapping them down will only result in underskilled workers and ultimately a decline in sales (if this isn't already taking place). Create an environment of fairness and not fearfulness and if profit isn't the number one goal - as stated by execs - then it needs to be proven. Customers are also getting beyond frustrated and feel like they are dealing with a group that has their hands tied.
