I have been working at Cvent full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Entrepreneurial, fast-paced and "work hard play hard" atmosphere makes for an exciting first job after college, and they also allow you to advance your career within 18-24 months of working there. Good benefits overall.

Cons

They encourage you to be aggressive when it comes to sales tactics, which can leave prospective customers with a bad taste in their mouth. The sales quotas go up substantially each year so it becomes a challenge to even meet quota let alone exceed the quota. The mid- level managers are not trained to be managers so instead they seem to turn into babysitters that tend to micromanage.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more in training managers or hire experienced managers. Should highly consider adding 401K matching. to benefits package

    I worked at Cvent full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - You can pretty much wear whatever you want to work (jeans, leggings, shorts, tennis shoes)
    -Very young environment. Average age is like mid-twenties
    -Will meet a lot of friends that you can hang with outside of work

    Cons

    - The hours are terrible. You must work 45 hours a week and do not get paid overtime. The standard company hours are 9:00am- 6:30pm. But expect to work at least 50- 60 hours a week.
    -HR is terrible and very inexperienced. They don't care about the happiness of the employees and do not listen to suggestions. There is no 401 K matching, you have to sign a two year contract and if you leave before two years you could owe up to $7500 back to the company.
    -A lot of the employees come into work hung over and it is a very unprofessional environment
    -They promote people to be managers that are very young and do not have the skills to manage a team.
    -Salary is VERY low compared to other companies in the area
    - Everyone is very unhappy about their job, but no one leaves before two years because they don't want to have to break their contract.
    -Overall it is a very un pleasant place to work and very few people enjoy working there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire experienced people to manage teams, invest in your HR and hire people that actually know how to run a company. Listen to your employees or else there will continue to be a lot of unhappy people that will leave when their two years is up.

    Young culture, start-up type of environment, promotion opportunities

    Cons

    they nickel-and-dime their sales staff, lack of respect for employees, not flexible with work-life-balance options
