I have been working at Cystic Fibrosis Foundation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The mission is so compelling. The organization is very strong financially and making break throughs ever year in finding the cure for CF. This is a nible organization that can change quickly. If fact, they make changes often. They can do this because it is a top-down organization that can quickly push a new message or program through its network.

    Cons

This organization is very cult-like. You must fit with their culture or you won't survive. As a top-down organization, it is not open to creative thinking or letting staff participate in setting strategy. They do pull together groups of staff and volunteers for feedback. BUT it had better be the feedback they want. If not, then that person is sort of blacklisted and not included in any future discussions. It is a high pressure operation. I have never worked for any place that fires so many people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the people doing the fundraising in your chapters more respect. Ask and listen to their feedback. Stop pushing down so many new rules and policies that get in the way of doing their job. It seems you care more for paperwork than people.
