    Pros

DC Prep is a mission-based organization with lots of fun, motivated young teachers. Every single colleague was really awesome both in and out of the classroom.

    Cons

It was not possible to complete the total tasks expected. I was consistently overwhelmed and supervisors were unhelpful when I asked for support in prioritizing. I got a lot of feedback -- too much at times -- and it was sometimes contradictory and further overwhelming.

    Advice to Management

Provide more paraprofessionals to ease the load on teachers or decrease class size.

I have been working at DC Prep full-time

    Pros

Staff and leadership are focused on student achievement, first and foremost. Teachers collaborate frequently and work tirelessly to ensure that students are learning and mastering rigorous material and perform well on assessments.

    Cons

Relationships with families and the community are sometimes tense due to the high standards DC Prep has for their students. In addition, there is a lot of teacher turnover (although varies by campus) due to burnout and exhaustion.
