Great place for work life balance, not the best place for career advancement

I have been working at DFW International Airport

Pros

Great work life balance, access to fitness facility (Livewell Center) is awesome. DFW encourages employees to be fit and healthy if they can spare time to go to the Livewell center regularly. Benefits are decent. Training opportunities are fairly decent.

Cons

Too political, some people don't need to work at all to get by, lots of favoritism, recognition and advancement are limited

I have been working at DFW International Airport

    Pros

You can set your own pace here. This is good or bad depending on your work ethic. If you are a slacker you can slide by, if you are a work horse - you will be a key go to person. Some cool projects are always in the pipeline, but the turn around time and management of projects can be half hazard at best.

    Cons

Many employees have been here a long time and aren't alway open to change or innovative solutions. Not a lot of proactive solutions are implemented.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your people, loosen the chains of hierarchy and make people implement the training and certifications received.
