I worked at DHL Express part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Very interesting work environment. People were nice, helpful, caring, and fun Opportunity for leadership roles Extensive training Team oriented environment

Cons

Heavily regulated industry (don't screw up) Night shift sucks period Pay is ok for part time Most employees are part time so they don't have to pay benefits Equipment at CVG could use an upgrade Very much a hurry and wait environment on the ramp

Advice to Management

If employee turnover is a problem, start offering full time pay with benefits. The need and opportunity is there.

I worked at DHL Express full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - opportunity for advancement if you can stick with it for a year and apply to all the advancement opportunities you qualify for

    Cons

    - work outside exposed to the elements or inside - pay is a bit low for the hard word you put in. - Very high turnover rate - Due to high turnover you are often sent to other areas of the operation to fill in for manpower shortage and these are typically much more exhausting than your roll. - management can seem to view ramp workers as inferior in my view

    Advice to Management

Pay employees better for the incredibly physically demanding work that they do. Hire more employees to meet manpower needs in all areas. Treat all employees as a valuable asset to the business

  2. Helpful (1)

Boring and repetitive once you have the job duties down.

I worked at DHL Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent and decided upon your past experience.

    Cons

Once out of training you basically are thrown onto the phones and expected to do ALOT of on the job training. There is alot that is not covered in the classroom that could and should have been.

    Advice to Management

One more week in training covering the "trace" procedures and reasons for opening them would save everyone time. Invest more time in having a knowledgeable base to start with, not just scripting.
