Former Employee - Customer Service Representative in Tulsa, OK

I worked at DIRECTV full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

The pay was above the expectation for a customer service center, and the benefits are excellent.

Cons

Dealing with negative customers takes a toll on you, and the low to mid-level management either did not notice or care. Also, the idea of mandatory overtime is definitely a turn-off for working there.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that while the customer may pay for the service, the employees make the service happen.

I worked in technical services where every call was a very irate person with no television who wanted me to fix it.

I have been working at DIRECTV full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Strong company that's not going anywhere. Good benefits. High morale. Strong senior leadership. Competitive pay. Complimentary DIRECTV. Currently undergoing major building renovation to modernize work environment, meeting spaces, cafeteria, and gym.

    Cons

Long commute (for me). Competitive industry with increasing competition. For me, not a clear path of growth opportunity (my co-workers have been around for over a decade in same position).
