DIRECTV Employee Review
DIRECTV – “Great place to work. You are rewarded for good work.”

You are the master of your own destiny. If you perform well and contrbute the sky is the limit. Good management. Just look at our results both with current financial metrics and sub growth. Cable is shrinking and FIOS has weak programming and limited HD options. We exceed in both HD content and were actually growing. Also the benefits at DTV are great. 401k, RSU, and pension. Not many companies give you that! Also our bonus is based on personal and business success. Upwards to 40% depending on your position.
Cons
Getting some people to view things at the macro level. We all need to understand how our contribution effects the whole company, not just our job or department. Smoe of the old timers are a little protectionist with information.
Advice to Senior Management
Think ahead. Keep up the good work.

Keep an eye out for those under you. You might be surprised to learn that not everyone shares your enthusiasm for this company, especially those that perform well and contribute, but are not recognized for it. Employee morale is definitely something that management needs to take a look at, since management gets the glory and credit for work done.
The 40% bonus number you throw out is a highly exaggerated number. People who aren't management are lucky to break 10%, and that's over 2/3rds of the company.
Not trying to turn this into a management versus grunts issue, but merely suggesting that you open your eyes a little, given that your situation affords you a bias that others do not have.
