I have been working at DISH full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

good paycheck cause you work a whole lot of hours

Cons

Low pay - You don't know what time you are getting done(somewhere between 6pm and 10pm and you start time is 6:30am or 7am) - No time for family - Your suppose to take a lunch but if you do, your day just gets even longer, so i skip lunch usually - Mandatory Overtime all the time - No Holidays off unless you use a vacation day( what ever happen to getting time off for Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter to spend time with family and friends) - No time for your body to get any rest - All the equipment is made overseas but yet they sell there services in the USA only(wonder why China owns us now) - Techs are over worked but try and survive cause they need a job

Advice to Management

4 days on 3 days Off for all including sub contractors unless the employee wants to work more days. Major Holidays off unless employees want to volunteer. Make Routes until 3pm so that if tech runs into a reinstall or an incorrect work order they can still get home at a decent hour. Lay off the micro managing

I have been working at DISH full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I ve read a lot of bad reviews and I wonder why...I think it all just depends on your team and manager. Working in the IT department isnt as bad.. 1. Opportunity to work on some major projects and make an impact 2. Great people around you always willing to help out 3. Open door policy - you can directly go one or two levels above you and talk about something if you have to..they will listen 4. Company invests in growth and infrastructure, so its good that you get to work on the latest technology and not outdated ones 5. Free satellite TV package with premium movie channels

    Cons

    1. Pay is average, benefits are poor - there isnt much incentive to stay here long term 2. Company is quite rigid with work schedules, no flex hours or work from home policy 3. Sometimes, employees are just treated as material resources (especially by PMs who only care about getting their project done no matter what it takes)

    Advice to Management

    1. Give your best people incentive to stay long term (compensation, benfits, bonuses, etc.) otherwise they will leave 2. Be flexible as far as work hours are concerned, emphasis should be on getting the job done instead of completing 40 hours in a week..

  2. An *OKAY* place to work if you need a job.

I worked at DISH full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People you work with are fun and overall good people.

    Cons

Manangement has no clue what going on! The pay is WAY too low for the kind of work performed.

    Advice to Management

Go out in the field and see what techs go through everyday.
