Pros

It is a job in this economy, which is a plus no matter what. For someone with no experience there is also a good chance you can get on with this company and cut your teeth.

Cons

VERY political, which always impedes progress. It is also very erratically managed, the direction even from the very top changes weekly so you people working many hours only to accomplish very little. Another CON is that very basic business practices are viewed as this "new" strange concept, or sometimes overlooked altogether.

Advice to Senior Management

Get back to the basics. Find simple effective ways of tracking/managing inventory, cash flow, budget, and schedule. Do not spend hours figuring out how to present the erroneous data you have, spend hours figuring out how to ensure the data is consistently correct, and a method which makes the data easy to access. If the data is consistently correct, the rest is easy.
