I have been working at DRT

Pros

Pay. Knowledge. Pride. Advancement of career.

Cons

Lack of vision for company. Leadership is weak.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Begin selling in adjacency markets, such as commercial. Let employees at the bottom make decisions for the marketing and sales folks who know nothing, yet are seemingly driving the bus.

    I worked at DRT

    Pros

Fantastic benefits (before the Boeing takeover). Very smart peer group of engineers. You probably will not find a better group of engineers, from the top down. A great place if you are a true communications engineer.

    Cons

Somewhat chaotic project management and a lack of communications between team members.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a scheme to develop better communications for inter and intra group communications

    Really great...until Boeing took over

I worked at DRT full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Cutting edge technology, flat organization, short communication paths, nimble decision making.
While I was there, there were great bonuses and salaries were above market rate.
    Friendly atmosphere, smart people.

    Cons

Managers were too involved in technical and design decisions. They were always former engineers but still, too much micromanaging at times.
When Boeing bought DRT the level of bureaucracy went through the roof. Before Boeing there had never been a layoff at DRT. After Boeing there have been 2. It's not a special place to work any more. Just another grind.
