I have been working at DST Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Large company with some development paths mapped out for employees (when followed).
    Nice benefits (but not great).
    Salary is fine
Chance to work with a lot of higher end technology

    Cons

Stereotypical corporate atmosphere, Employees are over worked, lack direction. Management appears to be very out of touch with the rank and file and what's worse appears to mistrust them. For some reason they think if they let you wear jeans and work a flexible schedule, it will ruin the company. They constantly eliminate/reduce work force, but expect more work from their employees. Mean while directors and VPs continue to sit in their offices collecting bonuses and in their minds "managing", when in all actuality it's the front line managers who actually have a clue and get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

DECIDE IF YOU ARE A FINACIAL COMPANY OR A TECHNOLOGY COMPANY!!! Remove some of the useless middle managers and start trusting your employees (see WFA policy). Relax some of your ridiculous policies and instead of eliminating people at random, get rid of the 20+ year vets that are pulling down 6 figure salaries, but refuse to work. STOP SAYING THINGS WILL CHANGE 60-90 days out!! it makes you sound like an idiot! Especially if you don't actually follow through and do something...
