Overall good place, depending on your manager. Great benefits; only if you can get time off.

Former Employee - Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis in Cincinnati, OH

I worked at DaVita full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, bonuses, profit sharing. Best part is knowing you are doing all you can to promote wellness for patients with ESRD. Room for advancement.

    Cons

Clinic hours early and long; short staffing. Opened too many clinics too quickly. Hard to have staff focus on all aspects of "quality" and deliver great care at the same time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More staffing...don't allow staff to accumulate so much PTO. It is meant so that teammates can be rested and refreshed!

Former Employee - Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis

I worked at DaVita part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Health benefits, friendliness of most staff, fun at training sessions

    Cons

No retirement, not enough training for the nursing role. It used to be that nurses in dialysis received a year of training. 3 months when coupled with other roles is not enough to make one feel comfortable and safe.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give longer training to nurses new to dialysis. Hire nurses to manage your facilities- they get what is required to train other nurses. Do everything you can to retain nurses with experience so that they can mentor the new nurses.
