I have been working at Dairy Queen part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I love my coworkers, a lot of the people that still work here say they stay for the coworkers. We're like a big family. Our boss makes sure we get the days we need off and don't have conflicting schedules with our classes or sports practices and such. It's also easy to get a lot of hours if that's what you're looking for, or to get people to take your shifts if you want less.

    Cons

It's a lot of hard work. Shifts are long and often seem never ending. During rushes it never seems like there are enough people to keep up with all the orders, and usually our lobby gets trashed and the drive thru gets backed up on really busy nights.
Closing is a drag. Depending on who you're working with, you could get out 20 minutes after closing or an hour and a half after closing. The pay is also low -- starting at minimum wage, you may or may not get a 0.25$ raise about once a year. Breaks are only 15 minutes, although usually you can sneak in a little more time.
Closing can be very hard on you, a lot of scrubbing and cleaning. Sometimes I'm sore all over the next morning. You also get home caked in ice cream and toppings, so morning showers usually aren't an option.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire incompetent employees. If they don't know how to do their job, they shouldn't be working there.
