I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyed my co-workers, who genuinely worked hard and kept the place going when management was lacking. Chill team isn't bad work, but it can get extremely busy during weekends and late night.

    Cons

A new manager would come through every three or four months and completely change/re-arrange the store. Makes for pretty inefficient work when your employees have just gotten used to things how the last guy had them, and you come in and re-arrange everything again. Some employees had been there for years and were making maybe a dollar, dollar-fifty more than when they started. Never seemed to have enough in stock, and we were always having to run to the DQ down the road to borrow cups/buns/toppings just to make sure we had enough until the next order (when we would inevitably be short again).

    Advice to Management

Find a manager you trust, and let them run the store consistently. Value the employees who stick around and keep things running day to day.
