I have been working at Danaher

Pros

Many internal companies to transfer to, however, there is minimal management support to transfer to other locations or companies.Large company with many opportunities for learning, growing and training. The best thing about working there is the size of the company and the discounts we receive from companies like craftsman and Fluke.

Cons

A lot political non-sense internally and incompetent middle and upper management, Danaher corporate has alot good ideas and really tries to incorporate companies they purchase into the DBS, however, old manangement has a hard time correctly adapting the DBS concepts and quickly delegates blame to cover up their own mistakes.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not listen to the management of the companies they purchase, because they will only tell them what they want to hear.

I have been working at Danaher

    Pros

The Danaher Benefit package is very good, employees have the ability to purchase company stock with their 401K plan.

PTO time off is very generous

    Cons

understaffed IT department for some work sites, some work sites only have 1 single IT staff member onsite which makes it difficult to take PTO time off. Some worksites do not have someone onsite if they are within driving distance of another work site.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

create more redundancy for each work site so if a key system goes down such as corporate email server or other hosted systems that there is a degree of autonomy that allows other sites to continue to function until the main system is restored. There should be a minimum of 2 IT team members for each facility, especially if that location requires their IT team to be on-call.

    I worked at Danaher

    Pros

Danaher is a large "corporation" but only a holding company for a lot of different companies.

    Cons

The "corporation" is not directly involved with the many business units it owns. The main players in the company have been very successful with the business ventures they have purchased. They are basically investments brokers and mostly buy and dismantle companies. There is an abundance of cash and a lot of stock has been sold as many of the dominant owners are retiring. Beware if you see or hear that your company is or will be purchased by the Danaher Corporation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no advise to give because of the way things are structured. It's the "Danaher Way" or no way.
