I have been working at Darden full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

I work at Seasons 52 which is a newer brand under the Darden Corp which boasts a sentiment about it being "the last serving job you will ever have", and, although it is an easy statement to mock due to its bold fallibility, I would say it is a pretty accurate statement. Darden has a tried, tested and true platform for providing a high level of customer service to every customer while offering a wealth of knowledge for those looking to gain experience and work their way up through management.

Cons

Like any company, there is a fair share of politics. However, if you have integrity, a strong work ethic and grasp the idea of personal accountability, this company is a good place to plant your feet in the hospitality market.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some money on OUTSIDE training & development for management. There are WIDE gaps in management training when everyone in the company is trained on the same things. It would serve the company well to get fresh perspectives on how to manage teams more effectively and increasing the productivity in the workplace.

    Pros

still works for anybody who wants to be part time no more than 20 to 25 hours a week

    Cons

corporate politics. benefits cost skyrocket. drop ped ay down to bare minimum wage cut hours back to 20 to 25 hours a week got rid of all long time employees to bring an entire new staff of people who really have no passion and no care forwhat they do. they have robots at work for them not customer service or sales people

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees and guests like people. Not numbers

I have been working at Darden full-time

    Pros

Corporate Environment, Growth Potential, Some Benefits, Decent Pay and Relatively Decent Hours

    Cons

The most recent changes in the management team have led to poor leadership, high turnover, serious levels of malcontent throughout the staff and the favoritism is mind numbing. However, it is a corporate environment and management still has some level of liability to keep them in check. The brand itself is expanding quite rapidly and in turn the quality of food is in decline. An alarming percentage of the food is prepared off-site, frozen, shipped, microwaved and delivered to your table. The low calorie count is truthful, the company pays for random sampling to ensure this. However, the food is extremely high in sodium content! Overall, this is an exalted Friday's with inept management at the helm. *If you NEED a job then apply here, if you're looking for a better job in the industry keep on moving. This is not what it once was. (*This applies to the Palm Beach Gardens location)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit living a lie, look in the mirror and improve this situation. The truth is that you are doing an awful job and it is beyond disappointing. The turnover rate, the guest comments and morale all point towards a change in management in this store. Quit playing favorites and do a better job because you're losing quality employees.
