Olive Garden server earnings and Management suck for the amount of work expected!

I worked at Darden part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

50% off shift meals, co-workers are generally awesome, the ability to pick up and give up shifts is somewhat easy.

    Cons

Darden is losing money so they are pandering to a much lower quality customer that don't know how to tip. It's become the McDonalds of italian food. Endless running of salad, breadsticks and wine samples, average per hour is $10, not acceptable for sore feet, aggravation and being nice to idiots. Corporate has no clue. Won't let you work more than 29 hours so you can't get full benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wait tables for a week or two before instituting your idiotic directives every week. You have no idea what goes on in your restaurants sitting in your cubicle. Focus on quality not quantity and pay attention to your employees, they have some good ideas. Watch your GMs more closely.
