    I worked at Darden

    Pros

    Fun working environment. Great food!

    Cons

When I took the job I was told that I could work 3 nights a week. Since I was working around my husbands schedule, three nights a week would be perfect. They constantly scheduled me extra shifts. I had three meetings with management to make sure they would remember that I only could work three nights a week. The last time they scheduled me the fourth night (and it was again a problem) I had to put my 2 weeks notice in. (I also worked weekends)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to respect your employees schedules. I might still be working there if you would have stuck to the 3 nights a week I was supposed to work.

    I worked at Darden

    Pros

    Offer benefits for part time
    Good Marketing team
    Always a full restaurant
    Good locations

    Cons

    employee loyatly not recognized
Company see's employee's as replaceable drones
    coupon clientele
    Wal-mart of the restaurant business

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would be a better work environment if employee milestones were recognized with other than a 5 cent pendent to pin to our uniform. Also if you are going to enforce such strict guidlines in regards to server/bar uniforms, you should provide some kind of cash back program for uniform purchases. Pull your heads out, you have such a great oppourtunity once you see that it is not only about the customer. If you were as eager to please the people working for you, your restaurants would run much more efficiently.
