I have been working at Darigold full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Good 401K. Ability to work at my own pace and make my own schedule. Little to no micro managing. Free parking and bus passes.

Cons

There isn't much room for growth and if there is, it's a very slow process. People are nice but on the surface. I don't know anyone in the building that is actually friends outside of work - just not a very fun environment. People don't work cross functionally and there are a lot of silos. It's a mans world so good luck getting promoted if you are a woman....I don't think there are any women VPs and very few women managers. It's not horrible ...it looks good on a resume but it's not a place to stay long term if you are young.

    I worked at Darigold

    Pros

HQ location is good for public transportation. Some good people to work with, but they are not appreciated.

    Cons

The work environment in IT is very hostile. People go out of their way to make others look incompetent, in order to make themselves look better. There is very little team-work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage working smarter, not harder. People are making the services much more complicated than they need to be. Listen to employees ideas for improvement.

I have been working at Darigold full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

A great company with a great heritage. If you thrive in an atmosphere that accepts change, is open to new ideas, appreciates and rewards professional growth, then this could be a good place for you to excel. Poor performers are being slowly weeded out so more opportunities are opening up.

    Cons

Need to be patient while this company grows. Some people are having a hard time with the changes but there are fewer and fewer as time goes on. If you are one of these people, please get out of the way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep building your "team". Improve ways to provide simple recognition for those who are "on the bus" and moving foward. Stay in touch with the negative postings on this site so you can fine tune but dont allow the less fortunate to change your course.
