I have been working at Dave & Buster's

Pros

Overall i would say the job is interesting in that you can never predict what you will encounter each day.

Cons

PAY!! There's no structure what so ever in getting reviews or raises. Example- a employee that has been working for 4 months can get a raise over someone who has been there for 4 years! Mangement terribly incompetent.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure management is COMPLETELY trained for there position before putting them out on the floor to actually manage other employees. Take care of your best employees(pay them) instead of taking them for granted and trying to use them as much as possible.

    Pros

You learn how to defend yourself. You become really good at comforting other employee while they are having an emotional break.

    Cons

The management team will treat you badly. They don't care how customers treat you. They can call you names threaten you and you are still made to take care of them. Numerous managers will make fun of employees to other employees. Certain parts of the year they come out with a hit list and will follow employees around till they see them do something wrong and then fire them. Completely based on favoritism. When you bring issues to their attention the will tell you to get over it. Expected to work 16 hr days and you have to cry out of hunger and exhaustion to get a break.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat others how you want to be treated. Ask God for forgiveness. Stop acting like Gods you're no better than anyone else.

Working as a Midway Tech is fun and rewarding. Pay is very low

    I worked at Dave & Buster's

    Pros

This review is specifically about being a Midway Tech. It is a very fun job in getting to play with games all day. If you are technical person, you can have a lot of fun and learn a lot. It is also very satisfying to accomplish a task and move on the way you do in this job

    Cons

This review is specifically about being a Midway Tech. The pay is too low for the abilities offered by this job. Despite having the ability to level-up in your qualification as a Midway Tech, there is no financial tie. Rather than only having Midway Techs and one Senior Game Tech, there should be more levels. An entry level that learns the ropes and at least one level (outside of the sole SGT role) that is higher up rewarding that experience with higher pay. Techs do a job no one else can at D&B!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

See my suggestions in the cons review. Basically pay Techs more. Pay new techs less in case of high turnover, but let them graduate to proper pay by certification or time served. The lone Dept. Head and SGT titles are not enough because sometimes Midway Techs serve in the role for many years.
