I have been working at David's Bridal part-time (less than a year)

Pros

The entire team is friendly and supportive- eager to work as a team. Shifts are fast paced and busy. Salary plus commission is fantastic for slower days but commission proves to be an awesome motivator in pushing yourself to make goals, usually not a problem- dresses and accessories can many times sell themselves. If you're shy, unmotivated, and lack a sense of assertiveness-, sales is not for you.

Cons

* Customers lacking in basic personal hygiene and proper undergarments. A g-string is not appropriate attire when trying on gowns.
* Your shift will go by so fast because you are very busy that taking a break seems nearly impossible, learning to excuse yourself and learning to close deals more efficiently will become mandatory for your own good.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm lucky enough to work with a wonderful management team on all levels and can offer no advice to the team. These women are strong, very efficient in their duties and responsibilities and offer only positive reinforcement and support to their team.

    I worked at David's Bridal part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Loved my co-workers. Loved working with gowns

    Cons

    The pay sucks. Trying to make commission is almost impossible. Weekends are a must. Hours vary. You're always being pulled left and right. No room for growth. Not a stable job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The employees surely don't get paid enough for what they have to deal with every day. I honestly believe the base pay should be raised. The consultants deal with more than the managers do.

    would have to be the 25% discount, sadly!!

    Cons

    management is horrible, they never listen or care about their workers. all the management is focused on is making goals so they can get their bonus. overwhelm their consultants.

    be more appreciative towards good workers. listen to the workers.
