I worked at David's Bridal part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Competitive pay: hourly plus commission. Management very approachable, friendly and understanding.

    Cons

Commission is based on employee productivity. You have to sell a certain amount to even be qualified to make commission. Lots of pressure to meet goals. The worst part was following up with customers via phone calls- lots of pressure on consultants to make phone calls- constantly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the phone calls. Only call customers when necessary.

I have been working at David's Bridal part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Building relationships with customers is probably the only pro I can think of in regards to being a sales associate at David's Bridal.

    Cons

Often dresses had been tried on so many times that they were disgusting and these dresses would still be sold. There were not enough sales associates to meet the demands of how busy the store was, particularly on weekends, so it made it practically impossible for us to properly give out customers the attention they deserved. The store I worked at was also filthy. Embarrassingly so.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more respect for your employees and listen to their feedback.
