I have been working at DeNA full-time (More than a year)

Pros

DeNA is trying to replicate the success of their business in Japan in the rest of the world. The challenge is immense and the paths to get there provide enough variety to keep anyone entertained. Overall team spirit is encouraging and you get a sense of being in something in the rise and unknown potential.

Cons

There are large disparities between the management structures between Japan and the Western studios, particularly DeNA San Francisco. The duality of leadership sometimes creates problems, and poor leadership skills in positions of large influence are at times, quite evident.

Advice to Management

Justify your positions by adding value instead of being a nuisance to the production teams. Also, in-depth knowledge of the business and products you lead is the minimum you could do to have intelligent conversations about them.

    Pros

Great place to work, fantastic work environment.

    Cons

Clueless management that is aloof and does not understand western market. They treat their artists like garbage. Talented people are forced to churn out half baked cookie cutter products on unreasonable schedules and when naturally the said product fails, they are blamed for not meeting the managements' unreasonable expectations.

    Advice to Management

What works in Japan, may not necessary work in the West.
