I have been working at DeVry University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Pros, the insurance is good, my co-workers are very friendly. I can't say enough about the people, most of them are top knotch. If it's your first job out of college, you can excel here if you're into sales. Cafeteria with hot food, and they offer flexible hours for certain positions.

    Cons

It's a business first, then a university. I wish I had known, it literally kills me to go to work everyday knowing these poor people can go to a community college and pay thousands less. The jobs are menial, low pay, and highly repetitive. Managers have zero management experience and do not care about you, it's about "the business". You have very little chance of moving up the ladder. Work from home is offered as a perk but never given.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We are individuals and should be treated as such. I've changed departments 2ce, and have missed out on 2 years of pay raises because of the change. Why can't my other 6 years of experience at "the business" be counted?
