I worked at Defense Contract Audit Agency part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They do provide lots of training, although the training is very intense since it's not long but there is a lot of information.

    Cons

Very little direction given to new auditors, most of which are fresh out of college with little to no practical experience. It is somewhat of a sink-or-swim environment (well to be fair it may depend on the office site that you are assigned).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please provide new auditors with more direction and guidance.

I have been working at Defense Contract Audit Agency full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, flex schedule, and good work life balance.

    Cons

No real advancement. Your promotions are based on a numerical rating which is given by your immediate supervisor. Unfortunately, most of the supervisors do not take these seriously so if you try to apply for GS 13 positions and your supervisor doesn't take your rating seriously you will not be considered for these positions. It is a very political agency, if the government can't set a budget you may not get to work. And to save a buck, the government will freeze your pay while the cost of food, gas, etc continue to rise.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
