Del Monte Foods – “Great when a public company, but the Private Equity buyout ruined a good thing”
2 of 2 people found this helpfulPros
- Good brands, feel like you are helping to make something tangible
- Used to be a fun and challenging place to work, but no longer
- Good location in Pittsburgh
Cons
- Senior Management have lost their way, don't think they realize the damage they have done - will take years to recover the former culture
- C level execs have a closed off office space 29 floors up that is actually ivory. Don't think they see the irony.
- I would be concerned about the future of the Pittsburgh office, everything seems to be moving West
- They let go of some great talent for what seemed like political reasons
- Would not recommend joining at this point, wait until they go public again
- Worst HR function I have come across, but the CEO seems to be completely oblivious to this.
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up and smell the coffee, you have lost the locker room, and people are only sticking because they don't currently have good alternatives. With a recovering economy more people will leave of their own accord.
