Delivery Agent – “Has potential, but falls short”
Pros
The company has a laid-back startup environment. Dress is very casual, and there's a lot of leniency and flexibility with hours and time off. Overall, people are pretty nice. Fully stocked kitchen - snacks, drinks, etc. Good benefits. Can be fun from time to time.
Cons
Even though people are pretty nice, stress and unfairness in the workplace can cause tension.
Management is generally incompetent and uninvolved.
Salaries are very low, especially for the amount of work.
Very difficult to move up within the company.
Employees get burnt out want to leave and are actively looking for jobs.
Be prepared to have very little personal life - there's a lot of take-home work and a need to be constantly connected, whether it's after hours at home or you're on vacation.
Company is not really growing or making money.
Advice to Senior Management
More involvement and communication is really critical but currently lacking. It is very possible that you don't ever have a one on one with your manager, and reviews rarely happen - this needs to change company-wide. Needs to be better job growth potential - surprising to be told that DA doesn't like to hire within the company. I think the company is trying to make the right changes, but it has just been so unorganized for so long that it will take time. As long as management makes a continual motivated effort to remedy these problems, they'll be on the right path.
