Dell Financial Services – “DFS could be a good place to work if Senior Management were to be let go.”
Pros
The people who work at Dell are top notch (senior management excluded). Dell also provides great work-life balance.
Cons
DFS management just doesnt care about any of the employees. They announced a "strategic assesment" and let 200 (some core) employees leave. None of them realized that a sub-prime meltdown may not be the best time to see a financial services company. The middle management is constantly fighting for position. Senior management seems to think these people have value, but they really just get in the way. The company would be far better off if the management allowed people to do their jobs and just backed them up when things were hectic.
Advice to Senior Management
All the Senior Management needs to be let go. They are only there to collect huge paychecks and play golf on Fridays. Same as every other company, but it needs to change. My first two bosses cared a lot about employees. The last one could care less. Didn't even want to talk when I left the company.
