Current Employee - Account Executive in Chicago, IL

Pros

The AE role at Dell allows a significant amount of freedom and leeway to run your business how you would like. Decent pay - competitive with the industry.

Cons

Since Dell has drastically underperformed in the recent past, there is a negative atmosphere. Also, as the company is shrinking, the opportunity for professional growth is extremely limited.

Current Employee - Senior Marketing Manager in Austin, TX

    Pros

Good salary, Austin is a good place to live, Flexible work schedule, and great people in the ranks at the company

    Cons

Horrible organizational structure and leadership, company fighting for 7th place with no desire to win, super political, employees treated very poorly

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop trying to change the company by trimming the edges and make big, bold decisions regarding products, brands, services. And play to win. You are wasting too much talent with the lack of aligned incentives and integration due to petty power struggles and politics.

    Pros

Exposure to latest technology. Emphasis on training. Salaries tend to be higher than industry.

    Cons

A lot of overtime work. It's difficult to balance work-life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop burdening the people left behind after a reduction in force. If the workforce needs to be reduced, reduce the work load as well.
