Career growth opportunities are great, but tenure and success don't equate to job security

Business Sales (Former Employee)
Nashville, TN

I worked at Dell full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGreat entry-level salary, and opportunity for promotion if you're careful about directing your own internal career progression.

ConsThe more your target compensation increases, the harder it becomes to consistently attain quota. Hard to know which are the right moves and get the timing right.

Felt very much like just another cog in the corporate machine. People get lost in the equation.

Advice to Senior ManagementMeritocracy should not be just about who landed a lucky big deal this quarter. Please make some effort to recognize consistent performers and high NPS scores. They are really more critical to Dell's long-term success.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Good benefits, stressful environment

Small Business Inside Sales (Current Employee)
Nashville, TN

Pros: The benefit plan is really good. You get about 6 weeks of vacation… Cons: VERY stressful environment. Even if you hit your goal, there is always something you need to work on. They make it very tough… Advice to Senior Management: Pour more resources into the employees you have instead of spending so much on training unexperienced new hires.… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
