I have been working at Dell full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great management, who are driven to make the company succeed while also balancing the needs of the employees.
Resources are always made available when needed, given sufficient justification (sometimes you have to make do, but this is life).
Great opportunities internally, as the company is more like a collection of organisations rather than one monolithic entity.
Great perks including relatively decent food, nice coffee bars and a good sense of work life balance.
Great attitude towards working with the local community, with lots of drives to participate in charity work.
Good attitude towards family life, as when problems crop up at home, time off (within reason, of course) is allowed.

Cons

Micromanagement can be a problem in certain departments.
While bonuses are very good, base pay is a little low for the average,

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work and keep Dell a good place to work.
Some middle management can get too much of a free reign with their team at times, given the large size of the organisation.

Former Employee - Financial Consultant in Bangalore (India)

I worked at Dell full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-Best place for people who can talk big, work less
-Relaxed working culture, below average candidates
-Good talent programs for freshers(get paid less but can network with senior leaders)

    Cons

-Very politically designed/structured leadership in India
-Every India leader is a mouthpiece & has agenda to grow his own set of people
-No genuine finance leaders, only those who can talk globe level stuff
-If you are not in one of the talent programs(which is structured by weak local leadership), you will get lost in the crowd
-Employees(specially talent program candidates) tend to only network with leaders, work less & try to side step other employees who are genuinely working

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend less time promoting your own candidates & focus more on business growth strategies- this will help the current crisis situation in Dell
