I worked at Dell full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

people. the people have always been the reason it was a great place to work. I could always find hard working people, whether in sales or operations or finance. I also thought there was a decent amount of leader development training and investment.

Cons

promotability for top performers - over time the company became a bit top-heavy

    Pros

    Great opportunity for training and advancement! Management does a good job of allowing you time to take care of personal business. Love the work from home program. Good pay. Dell culture is top of the line.

    Cons

    I completely understand that we are a services company, but the company seems to only be concerned about the customer experience during tech. support calls. The fact that Dell Tech's are told not to do certain tasks because they are paid for services or because issue is being caused by a non Dell software or had nothing to do with the DELL product all together. While at the same time being told to do what ever is necessary to keep the customer happy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Always putting the customer over the employee in every situation is never a good thing. treating customers differently depending on how much they paid for their equipment of contract is not a good thing either.
