A great experience, was treated well (pay and management style) but felt limited in career advancement opportunities

I worked at Dell full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Great place to gain global Project Management experience, and be exposed to Program Management (including budget, roadmap planning), as well as operational (run the business) responsibilities.

Cons

Owning your own career (is needed of course) and strategizing to have a long term career appears to be difficult with the many consistent changes in orgs - you may need to keep demonstrating your abilities for each new manager you have.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the assumption of needing to manage our own careers - need to make them manage-able across constant (necessary) organizational changes

I worked at Dell full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, opportunity to grow and learn, Bests benefits compared to past employment.
Great training and investments in their employees

    Cons

Team can get stuck in runts when overwhelmed with work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mentoring is key for new employees, encourage dual way open conversation with managers and their staff.
Fix the on-boarding training so its more specific to the team member. I agree with an overview for all dell employees but then drill down to their area.
