Pros

there are some great people to work with and it's nice to work remote when needed. You can get experience working with folks globally and international travel is rewarding.

Cons

culture has changed and it's not a fun place to work anymore; folks are not held accountable and it's discouraging to folks trying to do their best.

Advice to Management

let go of your ego and listen to feedback from the folks trying to do a good job

    Pros

Very good work/life balance. Good Managers and co-workers. Huge investments in R&D and lots of new projects to work on.

    Cons

Beauracratic. New recruites are preferred over retaining existing talent. Current employees are under-paid compared to new employees. too many organizational changes.

    Advice to Management

Spend as many dollars on retaining existing employees as you would be willing to spend on recruiting new employees.

I have been working at Dell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Dell typically pays above average salaries, and Michael Dell seems serious about reshaping the company to be a heavy weight IT services company with enterprise solutions for servers, storage, network, security, cloud management and data center services.

    Cons

A lot of aspirational plans to really grow the services business which existed before the company went private may remain aspirational. The frequency of org restructuring is very difficult to keep track of.

    Advice to Management

Bring down the walls between the various Lines of Businesses. Inter company competition is not exactly healthy and typically does not bode well with the clients. For the services business, concentrate service delivery, consulting under one umbrella rather than having multiple services offerings across different lines of businesses.
