Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at Dell full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Decent pay but not excellent. They do have the best 401(k). Employees are fine, just managers that are horrible.

Cons

Incompetent managers, unrealistic expectations from managers, favoritism of certain employees, punished for expressing your opinions, no mentorship, managers keep control with fear tactics

    Pros

Great enterprise hardware, solid services, terrific new software portfolio.

    Cons

Very inward looking, trying to figure itself out. Quarterly re-organizations disrupt progress.

    Advice to Management

Pick an org design and stick with it for a while. Reorgs add a lot of friction, preventing productivity.

  2. Great talent pool; leadership should rotate

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

Teams, when engaged, can and do incredible things - This is a great place to build and foster skills while growing professionally.

    Cons

The lack of fortitude to stick to a strategy - or adjust it minimally - the go-private aftermath, and the ever happening re-orgs yield noncommittal teams. The senior leadership is the same - has been forever - and they play musical chairs even when not the best match for a role. Collectively this causes missed opportunities and the system lacks decisive and insightful leadership - (i.e "why mess with something good or stir the pot?") It's just human behavior; the leadership should rotate

    Advice to Management

Adjust strategy intelligently and minimally; add fortitude to see the strategy through. Introduce new executive blood in the system. Inspect senior levels who are just too comfortable to make the right calls for the business.
