I worked at Dell

Pros

Great management, love the work/life balance, great resume booster. Lots of smart, motivated people that are a joy to work with. And can't beat the weather in Austin!

Cons

Many layers of management, hard to get things done. Long path to promotion. Can oftentimes be many late hours in the office to hit project deadlines.

    Cons

a lot of layoffs - and then rehire.
moved a lot of operations overseas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

try to be a bit more patriotic with 'Made in America' but, I know, business is business and you must be competitive. (Michael, you got rid of all your US factories - did your business folks ever add up ALL the costs of doing business overseas?) Yup, Wall street rules!

Company went from public to private there, so was victim to a reduction in force.
