I have been working at Deloitte

Pros

Methodologies: Methodologies specific to technologies and domains.
Organized and professional: Good hiring process and initial seminars to introduce to the firm. DNet (internal website) has lot of information that helps regarding processes and procedures and a job aid.
Good Salary: This is my second of the big consulting companies and Deloitte pays well in comparison to its competitors.
Own your career: Not much of intervention from anyone till your evals.
Ingrainded functional vertical streams lead to specialized career.

Cons

Work-life balance. Have heard work hours between 50-65 per week
Ingrainded functional vertical streams may pose issues for some.
Tough for some experienced hires Managers to find their initial projects.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a need to establish programs or processes that can help augment new hires in the firm beyond the buddy system and the CC as they may not be very effective.

I have been working at Deloitte

    Pros

The benefits are good and it looks good on a resume for future interviews (your going to need it if you ever want to advance).

    Cons

NO opportunity for growth for the admins. Raises in this service line are minimal (if any sometimes). The annual reveiw is a joke. It is predetermined how many admins per office can be rated at a certain level. If you would happen to fall into a better level but there are just to many of you at that same level...SORRY...better luck next time. You are micromanaged from the very top to bottom. You spend more time recording what you worked on then actually working.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your lower level employees like you would anyone else. "We" are the people who could very well not book you a return flight ;)

Pay is under market compared to other defense consulting firms; commercial side is respectable

    I worked at Deloitte

    Pros

Name on your resume before you hop elsewhere
    Training
    Good vacation time
Clients you can list on your resume
Leadership from legacy Deloitte is strong

    Cons

High ratings on projects don't correlate to raises
You are about 10% under market if you have higher education and work in government consulting
Managers are usually experienced hires from other firms (BE) and lack credentials
Top talent tends to leave for much higher salaries and job titles

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If someone has a lot of credentials, high reviews, and is in a niche industry, don't treat them like a number. And don't be surprised when these types of people leave.
